Al Jazira and Shabab Al Ahli Play out 2-2 Draw in 1st Leg of ADIB Cup Quarter-Finals

Al Jazira and Shabab Al Ahli played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg of the ADIB Cup's quarter-final on Sunday.

It took 27 minutes for Al Jazira to take the lead in the first half through Abdalla Ramadan who met Ali Mabkhout's pass with a powerful long-range strike into the top corner of the net to make it 1-0.

Ashraf Bencharki cemented the Pride of Abu Dhabi's lead after his first attempt was blocked by Shabab Al Ahli's defense as he managed to poke the rebound into the back of the net.

Only five minutes after the break, Yahya AlGhassani reduced the deficit with a superb header into the back of the net, to make it 1-2.

Federico Nicolas Cartabia leveled the scoring for Shabab Al Ahli on the hour mark when he met Yahya AlGhassani's low cross inside the penalty area with a clinical finish.

Abdoulay Diaby could have added the third goal for his side in the 80th minute, but the referee disallowed the goal after reviewing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) due to a handball on Bruno De Oliveira.
