United claimed their first win of the 2026-27 ADIB Cup after defeating Hatta 3-2 at Al Maktoum Stadium in Gameweek 2.
Hatta took the lead in the 39th minute through Drissa Coulibaly, who finished a well-worked attack to give the visitors the advantage before half-time.
United responded after the break and equalised in the 67th minute through Alemhdi Maouhoub, who converted from a well-delivered pass.
The hosts then turned the match around in dramatic fashion. Haris Seferovic scored twice in quick succession in the 82nd and 84th minutes to put United 3-1 ahead.
Hatta responded almost immediately, with D. Simon reducing the deficit in the 86th minute, but United held on through the closing stages to secure a 3-2 victory.
The result gave United their first three points of the competition and moved them into eighth place in the league phase standings. Hatta remained on one point in 10th.
United finished with 51.8% possession, compared with Hatta’s 48.2%, in an evenly contested match that was ultimately decided by United’s late attacking burst.
