Al Nasr qualified for the quarter-final of the ADIB Cup after battling back to defeat Al Orooba 2-1 at Al Maktoum Stadium.
The two sides held a goalless draw in game week one, which took place at Dibba Stadium on Saturday, August 17th.
It was a cagey first half, with neither side creating too many chances of real note, but Al Orooba ensured that wouldn't happen in the second as they came out of the blocks flying.
The only goal-scoring chance came for Al Nasr in the 38th minute when Adel Taarabt cut his way inside the box before his shot was parried away by goalkeeper Jamal Alsarrah.
Things went better in the second half as the referee pointed to disallow a goal for Adel Taarabt in the 51st minute. Still, Al Orooba's response came so quickly, with Hamid Yahya succeeding in breaking the deadlock in the 53rd minute. Yahya bundled his through desperate Al Nasr's defense and steered a clever finish into the bottom left corner.
Four minutes after the hour-mark, newly signing Ali Mabkhout restored parity for the home side team with a clinical finish from a close range.
Glauber siqueira Lima sealed the quarter-final spot for Al Nasr in the dying moments with a well-placed header.
