Al Nasr Come From Behind to Down Al Wasl in 'Bur Dubai Derby'

Al Nasr came from behind to defeat Dubai 3-2 in the Bur Dubai Derby and overtake them in the ADNOC Pro League table.

The visitors wasted no time in taking the lead at Al Maktoum Stadium after Brazilian forward Gilberto Oliveira sent a defence-splitting pass for Ali Saleh who found the bottom corner with an accurate left-footed finish inside 33 seconds for the fastest goal in the history of the derby.

Toze brought Al Nasr level in the 18th minute after winger Diaa Saba dribbled his way down the right flank and sent a superb cross that was met by the Portuguese playmaker who hammered it home at the far post for the leveler.

Saba was at his creative best again seven minutes before the break, sending another pinpoint delivery from the right that was this team headed in by Sebastian Tagliabue to turn the result around.

The Israeli winger completed a hat-trick of assists before the break, sending a perfectly weighted through ball for Algerian midfielder Mehdi Abeid to fire home Al Nasr’s third in the last minute of the half.

Al Wasl looked to get back into the game throughout the second half, and Saleh too advantage of a defensive mix-up to slot home his second of the night to narrow the deficit, but it was too little too late as the final whistle announced the three points went Al Nasr’s way.

The result means Al Nasr climb above Al Wasl in the league table, moving into seventh place with 29 points, their double win against their rivals giving them the head-to-head advantage.
