Bani Yas settled a five-goal thriller after sealing a 3-2 win over Ajman at Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium on Friday in matchweek 16 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Youssoufou Niakate fired Bani Yas into the lead after 13 minutes when Fawaz Awana Almesabi played a brilliant cross inside the box as Suhail Alnoobi flicked a pass with his head to Niakate, who smashed the net with a first-time half-volley into an empty net.
Five minutes later, Fawaz Almesabi cemented his side's lead when he timed his run perfectly to head in Lazar Markovic's pinpoint cross.
Lazar Markovic sealed the victory and secured the three points in the 73rd minute after slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Three minutes before the time, Milos Kosanovic reduced the margin for Ajman after firing a superb curling effort from a free kick, which kept the goalkeeper watching it hitting his net.
Lithierry Silva made the last moments of the game more exciting as he picked up the ball from outside the box, cutting inside the penalty area and dribbling past three defenders before nodding the ball into the net to make it 3-2.
The result means that Bani Yas are ninth with 19 points, while Ajman sit 10th with the same number of points.
