Tagliabue snatches dramatic draw for Al Nasr against Bani Yas

UAE striker Sebastian Tagliabue scored deep into injury period as Al Nasr fought their way to an exciting 2-2 draw against visiting Bani Yas in the ‘Expo 2020 Dubai’ sixth round of the ADNOC Pro League, on Wednesday.

Swedish striker Issac Kiese Thelin and Serbian defender Sasa Ivkovic scored two goals ten minutes apart as Bani Yas seemed to be headed for a victory over ten-man Al Nasr.

The 29-year-old Thelin moved fast on a counter-attack in the 55th minute to pick up a perfect ball from Gaston Suarez and calmly drill a low shot past Abdullah Al Tamimi Al Nasr goalkeeper.

Ivkovic doubled the score for the visitors ten minutes later when he was the quickest to respond to a ball that was parried away by the Al Nasr goalkeeper as the 28-year-old Serbian headed the ball into the net making it 2-0.

Al Nasr were the dominant team through most of the match maintaining ball possession of nearly 70 percent, but were unable to translate this into goals.

They eventually discovered the way to Bani yas net five minutes before the final whistle through their Portuguese midfielder Antonio Jose De Carvalho.

Al Nasr next lost Brazilian defender Glauber Siqueira Lima to a second yellow card and were reduced to ten men in the 88th minute.

The home team hung on as striker Tagliabue managed to clinch an equalizer with a goal eight minutes into the added time to help rescue a vital point.

The result took Al Nasr to ten points, while Bani Yas went up to five points
