A last minute goal from Sasa Ivkovic gave Bani Yas victory as they beat Al Nasr 2-1 at home in matchweek 19 of the ADNOC Pro League on Thursday.
Defender Mohamed Fawzi was sent off after 20 minutes, leaving his side a man short for an hour.
The hosts started the game in search for an opening and they came close to getting what they want when Isaac Thelin launched a strike, which went just inches over the bar in the 15th minute.
Ryan Mendes opened the scoring for the visitors when he met Wesley Braga's low cross first time with a right footed effort from the edge of the six-yard box as the ball nestled into the back of the net.
However, the Dubai-based side failed to hold on to their lead as Bani Yas grabbed the equalizer at the death when Thelin converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Ivkovic completed Bani Yas' turnaround in the second minute of the stoppage time when he met Nicolás Giménez's cross with a powerful header that completed an incredible post-ninety minute comeback.
The victory means Bani Yas sit sixth with 28 points in the bag, whereas Al Nasr remain eighth with 25 points.
