Bani Yas claim their first home win over Emirates

Bani Yas could overcome visiting Emirates 3-1 in the ninth week of ADNOC Pro League at Bani Yas stadium achieving their first home win in their league campaign this season.

Heading into the game with a win, 3 draws, and 4 losses, Bani Yas were hoping to stir things up and flee the table's dangerous area at the cost of wounded Emirates who haven't earned a single point in the first eight weeks of the competition after conceding eight losses in a row.

Bani Yas managed to score first in the 23rd minute after some good play in the midfield when Joao Victor Westner received the ball on the left wing, cut inside and rifled a left foot shot which the goalkeeper managed to save when the rebound fell to Nicolas Gimenez who was unmarked and headed the ball into the Emirates goal.

Gimenez then doubled the lead netting his second goal of the season with a fine volley that took a slight deflection on its way into the goal.

In the 81st minute the Emirates were awarded a penalty that was converted by Waleed Sabbar to put his team back in the game.

However, the game was laid to rest in the third minute of added time when the Isaac Thelin scored a wonderful solo goal sealing Bani Yas second win of the season as they move up to 11th in the table, whereas Emirates who conceded the ninth consecutive loss this season, stay rooted to the foot of the table.
