Shabab Al Ahli Thrash Bani Yas 5-1

Shabab Al Ahli maintained their unbeaten start to their ADNOC Pro League adventure after securing a 5-1 win over Bani Yas in matchweek five on Sunday.

The first half was cagey, with no threats from either side until Luka Milivojevic broke the deadlock in the 34th minute.

The Serbian player timed his run perfectly to head in Cartabia's pinpoint cross.

The Duba-based side pressed to cement their lead, and they should have done so when Yuri Cesar picked up a through ball that split the Bani Yas defense as he rounded the stranded goalkeeper before being brought down by Joao Victor.

The referee consulted the VAR and showed Victor the red card as Bani Yas had to play for about 50 minutes with ten players.

Five minutes after the break, Shabab Al Ahli doubled their lead when Youssoufou Niakate inadvertently turned a cross into his net.

Niakate scored again, but this time in favor of his side, as he reduced the deficit when Suhail Alnoobi sent an excellent cross into the box, where Niakate slid in.

Shabab Al Ahli managed to cement their lead when Guilherme Da Silva slid the ball to Khalil Azmoum, who fired a hammering strike into the top corner to make it 3-1.

Saeed Suleiman pounced on a misjudgment from Bani Yas' defense as he unselfishly slipped substitute Munas Dabbur through on goal to tuck Shabab Al Ahli's fourth in the 87th minute.

Saeid Ezatolahi added the fifth goal for the visitors when he successfully converted from the spot.

The result means that Shabab Al Ahli are now topping the table with 15 points, while Bani Yas are 9th with seven points.
