Bani Yas and Emirates played out a 2-2 draw at Emirates Club Stadium in Matchweek 22 of the ADNOC Pro League on Thursday.
The visitors wasted no time to open their account when they were awarded a penalty after Ahmed Rabea was pulled down in the box inside five minutes, and Argentinian forward Nicolas Gimenez stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to give his side an early lead.
The hosts refused to give up after the early goal as they controlled possession, searching for the equaliser which they got in the 28th minute through defender Ali Mustafa who met Faris Khalil's cross from a corner kick with a powerful header that nestled into the back of the net.
Only four minutes later, Emirates took the lead for the first time in the game when Waleed Sabbar embarked on a fantastic a run culminating with a driven effort from outside the Bani Yas box to beat goalkeeper Fahad Al Dhanhani.
Ahmed Abu Namous brought the visitors level in the 75th minute when he curled a right-footed shot into the back of the net after a fabulous cross from Gimenez inside the penalty area.
The result means Bani Yas sit sixth with 30 points in the bag, whereas Emirates remain bottom with ten points.
