Sharjah kicked off their AFC Champions League campaign with a 1-0 win over Iraq’s Air Force Club at Sharjah Stadium on Wednesday.
Khalid Bawazir’s 62nd-minute effort handed Sharjah the three points and put them at top of Group B after Tractor FC and Pakhtakor played out a 3-3 draw in their group opener.
Sharjah will next take on Iranian side Tractor FC in their second group stage match on Saturday.
