UAE Football Association chairman Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi handed Shabab Al Ahli the Arabian Gulf Cup trophy after the latter beat Al Nasr 5-4 on penalties at Sharjah Stadium.
The match, which ended in a 0-0 draw before heading into a penalty shootout, was held under the slogan “Year of the 50th Cup Final” in celebration of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee.
The closing ceremony saw the attendance of General Authority of Sports chairman His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Pro League chairman Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi, Al Nasr Football Company chairman Abdulrahman Abu Al Shawareb, and Shabab Al Ahli Football Company deputy-chairman Ibrahim Abdul Malik.
The closing ceremony also witnessed the honoring of runners-up Al Nasr, the referees, as well as the event's success partners. In addition, Egypt football star Momen Zakaria, who was a guest of honour at the game, was honored after the game.
Shabab Al Ahli Uzbek player Jaloliddin Masharipov was named Man of the Match after he helped his side clinch their fifth Arabian Gulf Cup title.
