Khorfakkan picked up precious points with a rousing 4-1 win against ten-man Al Orooba in the ninth ‘Flag Day’ round of the UAE Pro League, on Wednesday.
Khorfakkan took the lead in the 16th minute when Douglas Willian found the back of the net off a move initiated by Osama Rashid.
The home team was reduced to ten men after skipper Ahmed Khamis was sent off for a second yellow card in the 43rd minute.
That expulsion worked in favour of Khor Fakkan and they added a second goal deep into first-half injury period when Falah Waleed accepted a ball from Antonio Junior and curled in a beauty to make it 2-0.
Raphael Guimaraes made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute, before Saeed Obaid turned in past the goalkeeper and the entire defence to make it 3-1 in the 73rd minute.
However, their joy was short-lived as Jassim Yaqoob Al Balooshi slipped one in and put the issue out of reach for the home team.
Khorfakkan now eased into fourth place with 15 points, while Al Orooba continued in second-last position with four points.
