Kalba Bounce Back with Convincing 2-0 Win Over Khorfakkan

Kalba bounced back from their loss to Sharjah by beating Khorfakkan on Saturday in matchweek 4 of the ADNOC Pro League.

Mehdi Ghayedi fired the opener for the visitors in the first half, before Shahriyar Moghanloo secured the three points with a powerful header in the second half.

The first 15 minutes of the game were cagey as both sides were cautious and showed respect to each other.

Kalba took the initiative and made the first real goal-scoring chance in the 20th minute when Daniel Bessa slipped the ball through Mehdi Ghayedi, whose first-time volley was clawed away by Khorfakkan's goalkeeper Alhosani at full stretch.

Khorfakkan's response came at the half-hour mark when Lourency Do's strike bounced off the line via the crossbar and Ayman Rchoq failed to poke the rebound in.

It was Mehdi Ghayedi, Kalba's hero and rescuer, two minutes before the break, when he found the breakthrough after orchestrating a fine one-two with Daniel Bessa to slot the ball into the far bottom corner.

Daniel Bessa was the architect again as he swung a pinpoint cross from a free-kick inside the penalty area, where Shahriyar Moghanloo towered above Khorfakkan's defense to plant the ball inside the net on 74 minutes.

The result took Kalba to the 8th spot with four points, while Khorfakkan are 12th with three points.
