Ajman defeat Sharjah for the first time in 9 years

The early kick off of ADNOC Pro League sixth round saw Ajman overcome visiting Sharjah for the first time since 2012, as the home team snatched a precious 1-0 win at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium raising their point tally up to 11.

In the 1st half, Sharjah dominated possession but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal and the chances the two teams had were limited.

Ajman, however, looked more dangerous and could have scored if it wasn’t for the heroics of the Sharjah goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani.

The 2nd half was very similar to the 1st half until the 72nd minute when Ajman netted a well-deserved goal after producing a wonderful counterattack that involved cooperation between Mena and Ben Al Arabi, and ended up with Mina putting the ball on a plate for Ben Al Arabi in front of an open goal to gifting him his third goal of the season.

Towards the end, Sharjah intensified their attempts and had the lion’s share of the possession but again lacked effectiveness in front of the Ajman goal.

This is the first victory that Ajman has attained over Sharjah since 2012 which now moves them up to 11 points in fifth place, while Sharjah stay fourth in the table on 12 points.
