Sharjah continued their perfect run in Matchweek 4 of the ADNOC Pro League, securing a 2-0 win against Al Bataeh at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium. Goals from Caio Lucas, who converted a penalty in the 65th minute, and M. Ben Alarbi, who struck just two minutes later, sealed Sharjah's fourth consecutive victory of the season.
This marks the third time in Sharjah’s history that they have won their opening four matches (previously in the 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 seasons). Additionally, Sharjah have now kept three consecutive clean sheets, a defensive achievement they haven’t matched since March-April 2023.
Sharjah dominated possession and created the most threatening chances throughout the game. Despite this, the first half ended goalless, largely due to the outstanding performance of Al Bataeh’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim Essa, who made a series of key saves to keep his side in the match.
Sharjah’s relentless pressure finally paid off in the second half. In the 65th minute, Caio Lucas converted a penalty, becoming Sharjah’s top scorer against Al Bataeh in the ADNOC Pro League with three goals. Just 73 seconds later, M. Ben Alarbi doubled the lead, sealing the result.
Al Bataeh struggled to respond with meaningful chances, while Sharjah pressed for a third goal to secure the match. Despite some late pressure from the visitors, the match concluded 2-0, earning Sharjah their fourth consecutive win of the season.
With the victory, Sharjah maintain a perfect 12 points and sits atop the league standings, while Al Bataeh remain in eighth place with 4 points.
