Keizer Eyeing a First UAE Super Cup Title for Al Jazira

Al Jazira Head Coach Marcel Keizer confirmed on Thursday that his team is ready for the upcoming UAE Super Cup match against Shabab Al Ahli taking place at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Friday, January 7 at 19:45 under the slogan ‘UAE, Where the World Meets.’

"I am happy that my team will partake in the Super Cup, which will be a big event. It is expected to be a great match against a big team like Shabab Al Ahli," Keizer said during the pre-match conference.

"We are ready for the match. I am fully confident in my team, we have a great squad, capable of making the difference against Shabab Al Ahli.

Keizer dismissed any negative impact of Al Jazira's failure to win the Super Cup in three previous attempts, instead insisting it will further motivate him to deliver the Pride of Abu Dhabi’s first goal in the competition.

"Al Jazira players are in good physical and mental condition. Although we will play our fourth match in 11 days, we do not have any physical issues in the squad. Of course, we have some injuries, but I am not going to reveal them," Keizer concluded.

Despite his coy answer on injuries, the Dutchman did rule striker Ali Mabkhout out of the Friday encounter.

On his part, Brazilian forward Bruno de Oliveira expressed his delight to feature in the UAE Super Cup for the first time in his career, insisting his Al Jazira side is fully prepared for the game.
