Al Jazira Ease Past Al Nasr in ADNOC Pro League

A spot-kick goal from Nabil Fekir and a brace from Bruno De Oliveira helped Al Jazira ease past Al Nasr 3-1 in matchweek four of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

It took just five minutes for Al Jazira to shock Al Nasr and take the lead when they were awarded a penalty after Samir Memisevic stamped on the right leg of Oumar Traore's right. The referee checked the incident on the VAR monitor and pointed to a penalty.

Nabil Fekir successfully converted from the spot after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. It is the tenth goal for the Pride of Abu Dhabi from the spot-kick against Al Nasr.

The hosts turned the screw and nearly claimed their rewards when Mamadou Coulibaly fired a superb deflected strike that cannoned off the bar and Ramon Mierez poked in the rebound, but the VAR ruled out the goal due to an offside.

The Pride of Abu Dhabi's pressure paid off in the 37th minute when Nabil Fekir, who turned from a scorer to a provider, collected a fantastic ball from newly-signed Mohamed Elneny, and Fekir squared it to Bruno De Oliveira, who guided home with ease and scored the 100th goal during the ongoing season of the ADNOC Pro League.

Oumar Traore capitalized on a misplaced pass from Al Nasr's goalkeeper Abdulla Altamimi as he bore down on goal before unselfishly squaring for De Oliveira to roll it into an empty net in the first half's additional time. It is the first brace for De Oliveira in the ADNOC Pro League.

Adel Taarabt pulled one back for Al Nasr before heading to the dressing rooms for the break as he towered above Al Jazira's defense to head in Marouan Azarkan's cross.

The result means Al Jazira are 8th with six points, while Al Nasr sit 7th with the same tally of points.
