Laba Kodjo's Brace Leads Al Ain to 4-1 Win over Khorfakkan in ADNOC Pro League

Laba Kodjo scored a brace on Saturday as Al Ain racked up another win on their relentless march towards the ADNOC Pro League title, beating Khorfakkan 4-1 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Ain did not need much time to open the scoring after Soufian Rahimi picked up the ball on the far right of the penalty area.

He cut inside and curled a low effort beyond the reach of Ahmed Mahmoud and into the bottom corner in the 19th minute.

Four minutes before the halftime, Laba Kodjo cemented his side's lead when he successfully converted the ball from the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

Hamdan Al Baroud brought the visitors back into the game five minutes after the restart when he met Souza's free kick cross with a powerful header that nestled into the back of the net.

In the 59th minute, goalkeeper Khalid Eisa freed Soufian Rahimi on the left-wing, before the Moroccan midfielder brilliantly dribbled inside the penalty area to find unmarked Cristian Guanca, who easily turned the ball in.

Kodjo scored his second goal of the night when he forced a cross in with his knee in the 64th minute.

Al Ain's victory cemented their six-point lead at the top of the ADNOC Pro League table with 33 points, while Khorfakkan are now tenth with 15 points.
