A stoppage-time goal from Sasa Ivkovic guided Bani Yas to snatch a crucial 1-1 draw against Al Jazira and ended the Pride of Abu Dhabi's 100% start to the season.
Bani Yas had to play the rest of the match with ten players after Gastón Suarez's reckless challenge on Abdalla Ramadan that prompted the referee to produce a straight red card in the 39th minute.
Ali Mabkhout broke the deadlock in the 88th minute when he brilliantly converted from the penalty spot and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
However, Al Jazira failed to hold on to their lead as Bani Yas grabbed the equalizer at the death when Sasa Ivkovic hit the back of the net with a clinical finish from inside the box.
The result means Bani Yas sit ninth with four points, while the Pride of Abu Dhabi remain second with ten points.
