Sharjah secured a crucial 1-0 win over Kalba in matchweek two of the ADNOC Pro League on Thursday evening.
The match, held at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Sharjah, saw the home team dominate possession but struggle to break through Kalba’s defense until a decisive second-half goal. With this win, Sharjah climbs to six points in the league, while Kalba remains without a point after suffering their second consecutive defeat.
Sharjah, backed by their home crowd, quickly asserted control over the match, pushing Kalba deep into their own half. Despite creating several promising opportunities, Sharjah couldn’t find the back of the net in the first half. Kalba’s defense and goalkeeper stood firm, successfully repelling Sharjah’s persistent attacks. As a result, the first half ended in a goalless draw, reflecting Sharjah’s missed chances and Kalba’s defensive resilience.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Sharjah’s star player, M. Ben Alarbi, capitalized on a well-timed pass from the left wing, coolly slotting the ball into the net in the 75th minute.
With this victory, Sharjah remains unbeaten and perfect in the league with two wins, while Kalba, who drew 2-2 in the first matchweek against Al Wasl, is left searching for their first win of the season.
