Al Ain's Togolese striker Kodjo Laba was announced as ADNOC Pro League's player of the month for August.
The 29-year-old talisman, who scored the winner against Bani Yas last week, has got off on the right foot this season bagging 4 goals in his side's first three league fixtures.
Al Ain's Ukrainian coach Sergiy Rebrov was announced as August coach of the month, while UAE national team and Al Jazira's Ali Khaseef clinched the Best Goalkeeper award.
The names of the three winners for August were announced at the end of a 48-hour voting window, that was held through the official website and the official application of the UAE Pro League.
Kodjo Laba's triumph came as a result of the impressive performance he delivered last month.
The Togolese found the back of the net three times while featuring in the opening two games for his team and managed to comfortably overtake all other contenders – his teammate Bandar Al Ahbabi, Majid Hassan from Shabab Al Ahli, Brazilian Joao Pedro (Al Wahda) and Thulani Serero (Al Jazira).
Al Jazira skipper Ali Khaseef was the rightful winner in the Best Goalkeeper category following his fine display under the bar where he managed to keep a clean slate during August.
The 34-year-old Abu Dhabi-born goalkeeper, who has 55 caps with the UAE national team, finished clear of his competitors, namely Adel Al Hosani of Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli's Majed Nasser.
Coach Sergiy Rebrov has been credited for leading Al Ain to a perfect start this season, as he was awarded coach of the month award outrunning his two competitors: Mahdi Ali from Shabab Al Ahli and Sharjah's Abdulaziz Al Anbari.
