UAE Pro League has announced the names of "The Best" monthly awards winners for September, sponsored by "Etisalat", as Al Ain's Soufianne Rahimi has been named the month's best player, his coach Serhiy Rebrov won the best coach award, while Al Jazira's shot-stopper Ali Khasif bagged the goalkeeper of the month award.
Announcement of the winner came at the end of a 48-hour voting window where fans had the right to vote for their favorites on the UAE Pro league official website and application.
The 25-year-old Soufiane Rahimi has been at the heart of the success as Al Ain have launched their campaign for a 14th crown.
Up against the likes of teammate Kodjo Laba of Togo, Ajman’s Tunisian striker Mohamed Firas, Al Nasr striker Sebastian Tagliabue and Shabab Al Ahli’s playmaker Majid Hassan, Rahimi – who played much of his senior career in Morocco with Raja Casablanca – has had a direct bearing on Al Ain’s success the first six rounds of their league campaign.
Rahimi has scored two goals in the league so far helping Al Ain with his crucial contributions maintain the lead of standings on 14 points.
Meanwhile, Al Jazira’s Ali Khaseef won the best goalkeeper award for the second month in a row, surpassing his competitors Mohammed Al Shamsi of Al Wahda and Ali Al Hosani of Ajman.
Sergey Rebrov also picked up his second award in as many months, having received more votes than Al Jazira’s Marcel Keiser and Ajman’s Goran Tufegdzic in the ‘Best Coach’ category.
