The UAE Pro League has announced the November winners of the Arabian Gulf League’s Best Monthly Awards, powered by Etisalat, the official sponsor of the Arabian Gulf League, after the conclusion of the 48-hour voting that commenced on Monday, December 7.
Al Jazira midfielder Abdullah Ramadan and his Dutch coach Marcel Keizer were voted Player of the Month and Coach of the Month, respectively, while Ittihad Kalba’s Jamal Abdullah won the Goalkeeper of the Month award for November.
Ramadan beat off competition from four other contenders, including his fellow Al Jazira teammate Thulani Serero. He also competed against Al Wasl forward Ali Saleh, Al Nasr playmaker Diaa Saba, and Shabab Al Ahli forward and the league’s top goalscorer Igor Jesus.
The Tigers keeper Jamal Abdullah won the Best Goalkeeper Award after edging his rivals Al Jazira captain Ali Khasif and Sharjah keeper Adel Al Hosani.
The Coach of the Month Award went to Dutch manager Marcel Keizer, who guided Al Jazira to second place so far. Meanwhile, Emirati coach Abdulaziz Al Anberi who helped Sharjah top the standings came in second place, while Ittihad Kalba’s Uruguayan coach Jorge da Silva came third.
Winners will receive their awards ahead of their teams' respective matches in matchweek 9 of the Arabian Gulf League, scheduled to commence on Thursday, December 10.
The nominees are shortlisted each month based on statistics from global sports data company “OPTA”. The data cover the players’ performances in the Arabian Gulf League only and fans get the opportunity to vote for their favorite candidates through the UAE Pro League official website and the Arabian Gulf League app on mobile phones and tablets.
