Ala Zhir's first-half goal was the difference in Al Wahda's 1-0 win over Khorfakkan in matchweek two of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Al Wahda took possession from the start and pressed for the breakthrough as Ala Zhir gave them the advantage after thirteen minutes.
Zhir timed his run perfectly to head in Ahmad Noorollah's excellent cross from a corner. Mattheus De Andrade came close to level the scoring, but his header went above the post.
Al Wahda's defense stood firm and successfully repelled Khorfakkan's persistent attacks.
Al Wahda are now third with six points, while Khorfakkan are still searching for their first three points in the 13th spot.
