Al Wahda head coach Péricles Chamusca and Al Ain manager Vladimir Ivić have expressed their determination to secure all three points ahead of Sunday's UAE Clasico at Al Nahyan Stadium in Matchweek 8 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Chamusca described the clash as his team's most important match of the season, stressing the need for a strong performance against opponents with considerable attacking quality.
"The Clasico against Al Ain is our most important league match. We are facing a team with great attacking quality," Chamusca said during his pre-match press conference.
"We are technically and mentally prepared for the match, and our objective is to win and make our loyal supporters happy."
The Al Wahda coach also urged fans to attend the match and support the players, saying their presence would provide additional motivation.
Meanwhile, Al Ain head coach Vladimir Ivić reiterated that winning the ADNOC Pro League title remains his team's main priority this season.
"We respect Al Wahda. They are a big club with talented players and a good coach. We know Clasico matches are always difficult and carry special importance for our fans, our club and everyone involved," Ivić said.
The Al Ain coach added that facing strong opponents in consecutive matches helps build confidence and provides valuable experience for younger players.
Addressing the absences of Abdulkarim Trawri and Dorde Skoko, Ivić expressed confidence in the squad's depth.
"We have other players who can replace them, and I am confident they will perform their duties in the best possible way to help the team in this match," he concluded.
