Ali Mabkhout grabbed a brace to grant Al Jazira a 2-0 win over newly-prompted Dibba in matchweek 1 of the 2022-23 ADNOC Pro League at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi started the game strong, opening the scoring only 11 minutes into the match when Ali Mabkhout found a space at the far post and met Florin Tanase's cross with a clinical finish from close range.
The hosts were granted a penalty kick due to a foul on Ali Mabkout in the 27th minute.
The ADNOC Pro League all-time top scorer bagged his brace after converting from the penalty spot as he stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
