Pro League announces “the best” monthly awards nominees for September

The UAE Pro League has announced the names of nominees for “the best” monthly awards for September.

 

 

UAE Pro League’s list of candidates for the best coach, best goalkeeper,and best player awards in ADNOC Pro League competition,sponsored by Etisalat, comprised some familiar faces and a few new names.

 

 

The month of September witnessed four rounds of the UAE ADNOC Pro League with some sublime individual performances from players and coaches that earned them the right to feature on the list of nominees.

 


Leading the list of nominees for the ‘Player of the Month’ award is the Al Ain duo Kodjo Laba and Soufiane Rahimi. The performance of the two players has helped Al Ain keep their position on top of the standings by the end of the sixth round.

 


Togolese striker Laba – who has bagged August ‘Player of the Month’ award- is currently the top scorer of the competition having netted nine goals.

 

The 25-year-old Rahimi, who has found the back of the net twice in the four matches played in September, has been outstanding in Al Ain midfield.

 


Ajman’s Tunisian striker Mohamed Firas, who scored four times for his club last month, is another addition to the list of nominees for best player, while Al Nasr’s Sebastian Tagliabue with five goals and Majed Hassan of Shabab Al Ahli complete the list of nominees for the Best Player Award.

 


In the Best Goalkeeper category, there have been three outstanding performances during September delivered by:Mohammed Al Shamsi (Al Wahda), August award winner Ali Khaseef (Al Jazira), and Ali Al Hosani (Ajman).

 


Once again, last month’s winner Al Ain’s Sergiy Rebrov leads the nominees for the best coach award, along with Marcel Keizer of Al Jazira and Ajman’s 49-year-old Serbian coach, Goran Tufegdzic.

 


The window for voting was opened to the public via the website and various smart phones’ applications , as of 12:00 pm today.


Voting will last for 48 hours, after which the names of the winners will be announced on the official social media accounts of the UAE Pro League.
