Arabian Gulf League U21 matchweek 10: Al Ain return to the top

Al Ain returned to the top of the Arabian Gulf League U21 standings after overcoming their guests Al Nasr 2-0 in matchweek 10, as they capitalized on Ittihad Kalba’s 3-2 defeat to Al Wahda, with the Tigers dropping to second place.

 

The home sides emerged winners in all seven matches this week, as Sharjah defeated Bani Yas 4-1, Hatta beat Al Dhafra 1-0, Al Jazira won 3-2 against their guests Al Wasl, Khorfakkan beat Ajman 1-0, and Shabab Al Ahli defeated Fujairah 1-0.

 

Al Ain raised their tally to 24 points on top, thanks to goals from Brazilian Jonatas Santos in the 35th minute and Andrija Radovanovic in the 42nd minute, while Al Wahda ended Kalba’s five-game unbeaten streak with a 3-2 win to keep Kalba's tally frozen at 22 points. The Tigers dropped to second place, while Al Wahda raised their tally to 18 points in fifth place.

 

Shabab Al Ahli consolidated their position in third place by earning their sixth win this season against 10-man Fujairah. Meanwhile, Khorfakkan moved to eleventh place after raising their tally to 10 points, while their opponents Ajman remained on nine points.
